Richard Sandler, executive vice president of the Milken Family Foundation, tells the students at deToledo that through their education, they will learn the skills they need to compete in today’s world and preserve the values of the Jewish religion. Jews represent a fraction of a percent of the world’s population but represent one-quarter of all Nobel prize winners, he adds — a result of Judaism’s commitment to learning and tikkun olam, or repairing the world.
