27th Awards Luncheon

Los Angeles, California
December 14, 2016

Sam Grundwerg, the Consul General of Israel in Los Angeles, addresses the gathering. As a society, he says, “we don’t recognize our educators enough. … They have an underappreciated mission and a sacred profession.” He notes that the word chanukah, whose literal translation is “dedication,” shares a root with the Hebrew word for education — logical, since teachers are dedicated to “giving purpose and direction to our young Jewish minds.”

In this series: Fruma Ita Schapiro ('16)    Ilana Ribak ('16)    Rabbi Chaim Trainer ('16)    Tammy Shpall ('16)
